Ar fi o miscare excelenta a Suediei, Gripenul fiind de multe ori criticat pentru lipsa interoperabilitatii cu NATO.The multirole fighter jet developed by Saab, the Gripen, received green light to join the NATO Response Force (NRF).
Swedish Army announced that it has received approval and considers joining the NATO Response Force (NRF), although the northern state is not a member of the North-Atlantic Alliance.
Swedes have made a first proposal for participation in the NRF in the next three years. They will provide NATO a unit (squadron?) of Saab Gripen for each of the next three years, plus specialized ground troops, like demining, or amphibious, or motorized infantry.
It would be an excellent move made by Sweden, as Gripen is often criticized for the lack of interoperability with NATO.
