Tu-160Rusia a anuntat ca a trimis doua bombardiere strategice Tupolev Tu-160 tocmai in Venezuela.

Tu-160Russia announced that two strategic bombers, type Tupolev Tu-160, were deployed in Venezuela. Officially, it is an Air Force tactical exercise, but unofficially it’s a message for those who doubt Russian military capabilities.

The bombers took off from Engels airbase on Monday, October 28th, and landed, after a 13 hours flight, on Maiquetía International Airport, near the Venezuelan capital, Caracas.

The mission was supported by two Tu- 95 Bear bombers , wich provided radio communications during flight in remote areas.

Russians rushed to clarify that mission complied with all international aviation regulations, stressing that it is not an uncommon exercise. However , the long flight of the two strategic bombers was carefully monitored by NATO, two Norwegian F-16s escorting the Russians, from distance.

Tupolev Tu- 160, Blackjack in NATO code, is one of the most modern Russian bombers. The variable-sweep wing plane is also the biggest combat aircraft in the world at the moment.
